Formica and Laminex Benchtops

Dream Doors recommend and use Formica and Laminex laminates. Both are high quality laminates that can be used for multiple purposes in residential and commercial applications. The key differences between the two brands are the designs and colour range. Laminex is fashion forward in its patterns, wood grains and colour selection, offering a palette of designs that are more cutting edge and leading design trends.

Formica has many classic designs, offering a breadth of choice that is traditional and fashionable. Formica Laminate is available in 3600 mm x1500 mm and in half sheet sizes. Formica metals are available in 2400 x 1200mm sheet sizes. Many Formica laminates will be available in matching Formica Melteca decorated board.

On darker colours, scratches can sometimes be easier to see. If you are choosing a laminate for high wear application a lighter colour, or structure with depth will hide light surface scratches more readily. Staining will depend on the substance spilt, and can be minimised by cleaning the area quickly with a mild cleaning agent. Neutral solids are the most popular colours, however wood grains are becoming increasingly popular for both vertical and horizontal surfaces.
